Hong Kong (Re-Visit)

April 3, 2012 – I thought of bringing a huge luggage but in the end my sister threw me a cabin luggage – easy to drag. By the time we reached airport, it was already 7PM. 5 years ago I was in Hong Kong, everything looks fresh and interesting but 5 years after, Hong Kong is still the same and that sense of excitement wasn't there anymore, perhaps just an urban city for shoppers and my trip was just about to relax with my other half. I was in a great depression for the entire March, so this is it. A trip that we have anticipated for months. Hey wait. I'm not finish yet! I feel that inflation rate in Hong Kong is a bit too high, from food to transportation, except for certain fashions or accessories – if you're able to find it in Mongkok or Sham Shui Po. Yet, again I love the food but didn't get to try those "Chow Tofu" cause I don't wanna scare her off haha.

Yes! UFO Cup Noodle! Cannot comprehend such subject has turned into food on the shelf.

It's really hard to choose what to eat.. I mean yeah instant noodle and a variety of them!

I need some drink as always because walking is a lifestyle. We managed to sit in a cable car at Ngong Ping 360 which broke down on January 25 this year. We just got lucky on Good Friday. Operation resumes normal.

Moving to downtown Hongkong island, we took a tram ride to Victoria Peak Station, just nearby the Lippo & HSBC Building.

Taking a tram in HK island is easy. Follow the colors on the sign board to your destination. It's relatively cheap for the ride with only HKD$2.40, paid by cash / coins or octopus card.

Well pretty classic in the tram alright.

It was still early but the wind was pretty darn strong and very cold that we cannot withstand for long. Didn't manage to stay long but at least this re-visit can be reminisce.

I guess the wind was strong that caused the blurriness. Didn't hook on any tripod though.

We're young , we're old and yesteryears seemed to be a sketch away from memories. The pressure and burden was felt, as heavy as a 12 ton rock gliding behind my back. When one reaches maturity of certain age, it is time for him/her to stay away from luxurious lifestyle and paying attention on the future instead. There's a moment you wondered why prison earth is an expensive place to stay in which 90% of the population is in debt and spending most of their lifetime paying their mortgage or loans. That's okay but why is it so hard to achieve what we desire in the first place? The balance of society is wreck because there's never a fair calculation in your line. The best way to keep you alive is struggle hustle juggle, till your very last breathe. But some people play smart in a way to deceit and gain, honesty in this world doesn't exist actually because lies co-existed before honesty took place.

She claimed to be a bit bored! Ouch! But we re-visited Renn Thai @ Clarke Quay after we discovered that it's Thai food is the best in the region. Tasty and up to Thai cuisine standard but the price tag is a bit pricey. Anyway, glad she made it on week 2 of february in Lion land and we had a movie marathon just before that. My advice is not to have a movie marathon since because I caught headache after. Maybe my eyesight issue that cause the throb who knows. We do enjoy the food though. So enjoyed that you can forget the things around you.

A week after CNY

Howdy, this trip is a bit of a sudden. And that's only a week after my long CNY break in Kuching. Meh! Okay, a short KL stroll once again to this lala land, a land of fear. What fear? Fear of kena rompak (being robbed). Serious! I had friends who were being robbed so it's better to keep an eye on the street, wherever you go and stay alert at all times. I was being followed once by a motorbike and I know what it's like! Look to the left, peep your right. Wallets in the front pockets, Burberry bags grabbing firm, off you go! Well actually the 2 of us got lucky this year cause we'd win some tickets lol. First thing in KL was eat and yes, eat till you drop. Let's see….

We bumped onto an event with Ah Niu promoting his latest movie, The Wedding Diary.

We had Pepper Lunch for late lunch hehe! Love the taste of it!

Breakfast @ Capital Hotel! So in love with the international buffet here.

Specifically like this Nasi Lemak Paste (Belacan Paste) Yummy! So heavenly. The 2 of us even thought of packing the paste into a container HAHAHA!

Simple Visiting 2012

Since I don't celebrate Lunar New Year in the year 2012, so be it. Let alone those celebrations. How bout visiting some friends instead? Well neat to say I spent most of my Lunar New Year @ my other half's house because of certain taboo and respect in the family practice. Fortunate for me, life goes on after my granny's departure. The mourn was over and we still have to move on with stronger faith. The culture never fades and we had a family reunion & dinner still on the night of the funeral. Likewise, I had a peaceful and enjoyable week with loved ones and wonderful friends around Ah, I am surprise Mike's son, An An is pretty "akin" to me hehe.

20.01.2012 I got a message from my cousin that my granny passed away this morning @ 8:15am. she was 94 years old. Burial service will be commencing tomorrow afternoon.

It is indeed kinda rush since most people will be celebrating lunar new year in 2 days time. I planned to visit her in the hospital tonight but time is not favoring me. I was still in disbelief when i heard the news but gotta accept the fact that she departed this world for good. The last time I saw her was in December 2011 and last to hear her voice over the telephone was recent sunday. I just couldn't hold my tears in the public but let those curious eyes wonder.

RIP Granny. hope you and grandad rendezvous somewhere.

Happy New Year!

It's a strange world with somber haunting you.
My new year had been normal, no countdowns, no party, not even bother to look at the fireworks nor gathered with the crowds in town.
I just had a simple midnight with my other half, face to face virtually.
Not knowing why, the year went by peacefully with a few old buddies virtually as well.
And I get to know that granny was admitted to hospital due to failure to generate blood cells from bone marrow.
10 packets of blood transfusion for the past weeks. That's the most bitter part and painstaking experience I've got to know of.
She did rant to me on the phone that this is a hard time and I could hear her awe on her echos.
One will go through all these process of aging and death and what most fear is the time that silence the audience with tears and mourn.
Doc said she had a hard time breathing and required a breathing apparatus for the meantime.
Hope she'll recover soon and to see her soon this coming lunar celebration.
But, just last night a dream struck me which I do not wish to disclose but it was close to this reality.
I don't know if you call this pre-cognition or what but I am well-prepared for the worse.
This reminded me of my granddad who departed in late 2003 if I am not mistaken.
He was lying in the hospital too but with internal organ failure and failure ingestion system along with syringe tube.
It was a gray site for me as those feeling really penetrate through your heart.
A sight where docs flipped those white blanket over, a sight of unknown chills and goosebumps.
But still you have to accept it in terrestrial laws.
As many suggest that we still have to live through the hard times.

Ho ho ho! I hope this is not too late for my greetings.
Merry Christmas to everyone. I had been busy and now it is time to fill up my blog.
Yes, a season of joys and laughter once again celebrated by billions across the globe.
Not sure where you're celebrating but this year is exceptional for me to celebrate in Singapore.
I use to roam elsewhere for Chirstmas but due to workloads I have to refrain myself.
And of course my girl misses me much on the celebration together ( sorry )
I think I had been quite a naughty boy recently. How so?

(In December)
- I forgot to post christmas card to my friends
- I forgot her christmas present which I left in Singapore when I was back for the weekend.
- I forgot to inform my mom about the dinner we're supposing to have while I was home during the weekend

I hope that's not a sign of Alzheimer!

Well, Christmas – on earthly term means the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. It doesn't exist in other dimensions but it was inappropriately misinterpreted by party goers. There are jags around who'd spend time partying all night long making countdowns for the sake of enjoyment or maybe being inebriated. Religious people might feel offended but I would ask, "If you have celebration for new year's eve then what's celebration for christmas eve then?" Double shot? I guess these party goers can elaborate further with excuses. Well, Christmas for me is a time to relax and having a reunion dinner with family members (or even friends). That's my definition and definitely not the pub kind place. lol.

Now my December is kinda choppy! I know. There's much to rant about and much to enjoy about. What's more enjoying than spending time with your other half and tons of good friends and family together ? I love those feelings really but I hope that more people will be aware of this mysterious energy within our atmosphere. To understand that, first you have to practice zen. The power of prayers (Hail Mary) is another type of unknown energy to mankind. Researching has been fun

I had a rendezvous with Uncle Mike & his son ,Tim.
Unfortunately Esther was sick and was being accompanied by Aunty Annie in the hotel
Oh well, the 2 lads and uncle had a lovely stroll down the Orchard. Kinda dislike the crowd here. I felt awfully stinky! Ew! But windy night though.

A family reunion with 2 lovely uncles from Brunei and KL, Uncle Alex and Uncle JK with their naughty children.
We had lunch @ traditional Nyonya Restaurant because aunty sue had enough of hotel foods! LOL!

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011 & A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!

Short Penang Trip (On and On)

Yeah, when I say short, it's really short. That was about 7 hours in the island and really glad that uncle CY, Jerry & ChinSze spent their time with a young chap like me. When you heard of the place Penang, it's mainly about mouth watering dishes, a state rich in culture and heritage except for Penangite drivers. It's a shame to drive courteously there because reckless had put up it's sign everywhere. Anyway, watch out if you're driving in the island because I'll not be surprise with frequent bumps.

First stop : New Lane (Hawker Street)

There are quite a number of mamak stalls here but not all the food are acceptable due to the smelting level and Uncle CY got to complain some of it from freshness and taste alone. I kinda agree with him cause he is one of the food critique around.LOL!

Cha Kueh. mmm not so nice! tasteless!?

This is the worse O-Jien (oyster omelette) I ever had yo! Cook by an i-pad lady! LOL!!

Pig intestine porridge! Okay I pass this really! Hehehe!

Goofy Curry Noodle with pig's blood! First time trying the blood clot and mmm…. not too bad! A little bit sweet!

Now this Cha Kueh Teow is awesome, just don't know why CY complained. A small plate like this is a staggering RM5.

Second stop : Sukhothai (Beef Noodle House)

We visited this air-conditioned restaurant after the meal above lol and it was delighting to try out mango with glutinous rice here. But we were bloated after the previous meal so decided to go for just dessert. We ordered 3 desserts in total!

Here is Mango with warm glutinous rice and dark rice, along with Durian punch. OMG! OMG! Durian Punch fnished by CY and CS. lol I gave up on durian!
