Visiting Tokyo, Japan – Day 4 & Day 5 (Epilogue)

February 15, 2009 - 4:13 pm  Print This No Comments

Alright. This will be my last post for my Japan Trip. LOL! Whilst, some complaint to me that this post was really long, winding & never ending. You know… I love to share my pictures and wonderful moments! Check out the available links below for references and tips. Now I promise you that this is a wrap! LOL!

Continue on DisneySea, there's much to explore but we have minial time on the rides and wasted most of the time in the queues. Oh, don't you hate it? For 5 minutes of thrill you sacrifice 30 minutes in the queue (average)? My face totally went green! Miraculously I found my colleagues in the 'Raging Spirits' section. They were already in the queue and what I did was jump queue. :P

This is 'Raging Spirits'. Next to it is 'Indiana Jones Adventure : Temple of the crystal skull' Never have time for that but this roller coaster is something like… uhm… a light andrenaline rush maybe?

Riding on the minecart is simple adorable! haha! Wheeee… I nearly dropped my specs the moment it flung.

It was a gloomy day!

Fancy architecture

That's mickey (the prince) on a sea parade show.

Cicak man? hahaaha!

The young gangs or should I say ex-coleagues? :)

Crowded Disney Sea with lovely architecture & buildings.

Late afternoon, around 4pm. We jump on Disney Resort Line and swap to JR Line for transit, destination : Shibuya.

At the train station, curvy ceiling architecture on the ceiling.

Ah train (DRL) arrived. That's a lovely window there.

Mickey Handle Bars

While we're inside the JR Keiyo Line… It took us 20 minutes to arrive. Ferris wheel spotted.
Now one question in mind. Japs love ferris wheel a lot ah? Almost every wards in Japan got at least one.

The most complicated transit rail system in the world. Not too worry of the map, it takes time to read :)

Alright it's 5pm. Here I am in Shibuya. Pedestrians on the scramble crossing with colorful night lights behind.
WOHOO!

Another shot with car backlights. Ah, been shooting near the traffic light for at least 30 minutes. LOL!

We're hungry and everyone's craving for a hot bowl of RAMEN.
We bought our tickets on the vending machine and pass it to the chef. Dinner served.

Ramen chef's making noodle

Ramen with chopped scallions and a glass of chilled water.

Enjoying :)

The yolk is special, slightly darker than the ordinary but taste good.

After dinner, I went shopping for Bento set :) but I have a sad case for this. Grrrr…

Another wooden bento for myself. :D

Next morning, I woke up at 9am, had my breakfast as usual and stroll around sunshine city for the entire morning before departing for airport in the afternoon. Bought some shoes, jeans and packet food. :D Eventually, I ended up with 8 boxes of food & garments. Woah! So siao lah!

I saw an anime shop somewhere around our hotel. Tons of japanese anime can be found here.

For bicycle. How nice if Kuching have this…

Ha poor panda. Raining still have to hold the human billboard with an umbrella.

Crowds @ Sunshine City.

It's a huge takoyaki ball with different taste. YUMMY! 300 Yen only.

Had my lunch @ nearby Dine-In's; Sweet Japanese Curry, Miso Soup & Fresh Salad.

Arrived Narita airport at 2PM.

Had Bento Unagi set for filling up the stomach. You know… we tend to eat more during cold weather :P

And this is tempura with rice.

Departed at 4.30PM via JAL Airlines. Bye Bye Japan! See you in the future again :P Now am aiming Hokkaido crab! Ugh~~~ Slurp Slurp…

Eh, surprisingly I found this in the in-flight entertainment menu.

Intro Borneo (Sarawak & Sabah) wor! Some more I enjoyed when they show Kuching as their first destination & go-green project comes later. haha. So proud to be a Kuchingite. :P The program was related to global warming & the preventions. Their effort of planting more trees, mitigate pollution; in return of keep our environment safe & healthy.

Visiting Tokyo, Japan – Day 4 – P1

January 8, 2009 - 12:17 am  Print This No Comments

A brand new day! Yeap, it's Day 4 no doubt, our time was insufficient. Everyone had their breakfast and prepared themselves before the bus leave. Destination? It's gonna be Tokyo Disneyland (東京ディズニーランド) / DisneySea (ディズニーシー)! A day is never enough for the fun and thrill as you might end up in the queues for 30 minutes to an hour intervals.

Well, am lucky enough to try out a few swings & toast – mind stimulating indeed! Oh, don't you hate the crowds and long queues? Heck, you feel like repeating the rides again and again but  too bad my time was inadequate for 10-20 rides in the park and therefore I only managed to try on the 'Tower of Terror' , 'Raging Spirits' '20,00 leagues under the sea' and 'Journey to the center of the earth'. :/ How sad!

Disney characters were my childhood favorites; that would be Mickey, Minnie, Mermaids, Donald Duck,  Pocahontas, Goofy, Pluto, Woody, Aladdin and many more. What's the feeling like meeting your favorite cartoon characters? stirring with joy? screaming? Nah… those feelings were long gone. Enjoy the pix.

Good morning Tokyo!

Arrived Disneyland at last. Yahoo!

Let me do some pose! LOL :P

My ex-colleague, Ji Wei from Da Lian (China).

Disney Rail to Maihama Station and to City with subway. :P

Nope…. we're not going to Disneyland but my design manager and his family did. We're going DisneySea! Disneyland too common lah!

Bought the ticket at 4,500 yen (now 5,800 yen).

We're inside DisneySea. So we took a group photo in front of this huge spinning globe. As I was about to keep my tripod, I glimpse around. OMG! Everyone's gone and left me alone!!! Ok, I have my map and decided not to look for them instead, I lead my own way and enjoy my own programme.

Then I saw Goofy. Gawd I waited for 5 minutes before he entertain me. Ladies first right? Fine! 2 Japanese girls kawaii with their cammie.

Then I was about to take a snap with goofy and this 2 girls approached; Goofy accepts their warm smiles. How lecherous of him! ~.~ Ok, ladies first!

Then FINALLY it was my turn with Goofy. Glad a couple helped me on this snap! I wonder who's inside! Mind if I put my fist in Goofy's mouth! HEHHEEH!

I must say am amazed with the buildings here, it's similar to those Victorian buildings.

The 'meet & smile' session with your favorite Disney characters. That's the fortress & volcano across. They show was in Japanese Language. -.-;

That's Mickey!

That's Princess Jasmine & Prince Ali from Aladdin.

Chipmunks saying HI!

Donald Duck, Daisy, and Chipmunks dancing.

Aladdin the gin.

Pluto & Daisy at the back…

Princess Jasmine again.

Now who's this?

Charming lil' kid saying HI to her character!

So I walked around the park…

Didn't managed to try this!

But this…. Tower of Terror is really something. A lift ride in the dark gloomy tower facing beautiful landscape around DisneySea. The window will open at the center of the tower and suddenly you swing down without any warning! Oh yeah!

'Journey to the center of the earth'. Well, there's only 1 part's that thrilling here which was the one down hill. WOOOooOOo! Other than that, you'll see some alien faces / creatures on display.

This is '20,000 Leagues under the Sea' Some sorta 4D images displayed on the screen and it feels like we're in a cave or something instead of the water.

You have to walk down for the queues again.

A number of rides in the Triton's Kingdom. Didn't try any and looks like all rides are for kids. :/

There, Triton's Kingdom.

Stay tune for Part 2…

Visiting Tokyo, Japan – Day 3 – P4

Evolving buildings are part of the play for big countries today – Burj of Dubai, 30 St Mary Axe of London, Hearst Tower of NYC etc.  A few can be seen in Odaiba itself, an artificial island at Tokyo Bay. What inspired me was the architecture of the building, made with concrete, steel and tinted glass, and shape of the structure of course.

Not sure what this building was for but looks alike tetris block. Some say this is a Telecom center.

The Conference Tower. Looks alike a huge Lego brick.

It's a communication tower or something…

The Fuji TV headquarters in Odaiba. So cool right?

Another office tower…

Let's check out Toyota Showroom a.k.a. MEGA WEB! It's huge alright! Glad to be here :)

Look at the huge parking lift. OMG! So cool can?

A futuristic concept car. Ow, lovely one seated vehicle.

Another concept car, Fine-X uses a fuel-cell hybrid system.

One of Toyota's Engine System.

Odaiba's sunset!

This is Venus Fort, "lovers sanctuary". It is the first mall in Japan to have a theme park in it. Venetion of Macau also follow style…

Venice theme shopping mall – just like the one at Venetian, Macau. Get what I mean?

The Venus Fort marble fountain. Ah~ christmas settings.

And there, Odaiba's ferris wheel spinning up there….

Rainbow Bridge at night. So beautiful.

Replica of The Statue of Liberty @ Odaiba.

Had dinner with colleague and bought a Ramen coupon at the vending machine, 400 yen per bowl. Noodle's very Q, Pork meat is very tender and gosh, the egg yolk is tasty & totally different – unlike any other.

After dinner, I went up to Sunshine 60 observation deck with my boss. Argh, I bought 2 tickets (if not mistaken, entrance fee is about 200 Yen) for christ sake but oh well… I did shoot something that's worth my visit – the nightscape of Tokyo City, though the glass reflection do affect some of my pictures. Hope you like it.

Another view of the city.

Fell in love with Tokyo's city light? Hmmm…

At the observation deck, we also enjoyed some artificial work made by paper / bamboo. Impressive. There's also some art work on display. Do pay a visit if you're there…

Visiting Tokyo, Japan – Day 3 – P3

And the Shinkansen arrived
From Yokohama to Tokyo – the journey took us 20 minutes or so. What inspired me was the 300 series noise reduction compared to any other trains and less vibrant to passengers. Now sit back and enjoy the ride….

The train depart on time…

Ordinary class cabin

It feels like am inside the airbus. Haha.

Arrived Tokyo on time and might as well wanna take a photo of myself. :P

We moved on to another transit on JR to Ginza station.

Hold the handle firmly as JR is always crowded with passengers, might as well get squeezed. Argh!

A perspective of the handle.

Ah yeah, we arrived at Ginza finally!

Before the shopping spree begins, we dropped by one of Ginza's famous and affordably buffet restaurant to had our lunch. OMG, pardon my memory as I can't recall the name of this restaurant but it's a grill-based buffet with American-Chinese-Japanese dish served, eat all you can at ¥1,200 (around this figure) per pax. Pretty famous though. Salads, dim sum, variety of meats, yakitori, unlimited free flow of soft drinks – it's all there.

Delicious yakitori on the grill. Aw!

Salad & Corn bits. Chicken cutlet with french fries, wedges, fried noodle and siew mai.

Bacon, beef and chicken meat on the grill as well.

Again, french fried with curry sauce!

Chicken grill!

Opps. I think that's all for the lunch part as I was dang hungry on that time, mind you.
So this lunch satisfiied me (Gratified) :

The street was closed at Sunday afternoon for predestrians to walk about.

This is Ginza Street!

There you go, the brand itself – Burberry @ Ginza. No photography inside! -.-;

Helped my sis on the series. :P

Beautiful tulips on the doorway of some retail. omg!

Prada itself.

Somewhere in the middle of the street, some reflection drew my attention…

And the Nissan Motorshow was here!

Cute lil' concept vehicle which can revolve 360 degree and navigate directions by a speaking robot  (robot head in front of the wheels) – It's Pivo 2.

A digital screen for controls and navigations. The interior is so cute can?

Another angle of the concept car.

Commentator explaining the functionality of the car.

Oh, she stands like a robot!

Isn't she cute?

The new Nissan GTR.

Ow powerful exhaust.

Finish with the motorshow and time for a streetscape.

A jetplane glide on the skies of Ginza.

Another streetscape of Ginza.

And FYI, dog's a common sight & trend at Ginza on a weekend stroll.

No. 30!
