Halyconstudio Earth Day

April 22, 2008 - 11:29 pm  Print This 2 Comments

Today is earth day and let’s do what we can to save the earth. Here is what you can do….

1)

Cut down the use of plastic bags in shopping centre, groceries store, and any other small shops. Say NO to plastic. Can you do that?
2)
Don’t hesitate to share transport with your friends, neighbours, or family.
3)
It’s digital age, lets cut down the use of papers.

4)

Pled across those who involve in open burning activities or warn them.
5)
Grow more plants in your garden or premises.

There maybe more ways to prevent climate change but things can get a bit narrow when it comes to proper education, understanding and performing. We knew trees are cut daily across the globe, carbon dioxide keeps on looming the air and printed materials on hand, oh well for references? What will happen if these situations remain the same in future?

It has come to a point that our borneo island is highly protected by The World Widelife Fund (WWF), no doubt. Less urban development on nearby forestry can prevent high risk of unhealthy ecosystem. Conservation is important before it’s too late. So, how many trees we need to plant in order to absorb that much of carbon dioxide in the air? Pass this message around. It can help a little, at least.

Borneo – Part 1

July 13, 2007 - 2:14 am  Print This No Comments

It was preety amazing to have borneo featured in National Geographic’s documentary. When you watch the following video is simply amazing. Those you cannot find is all here. And to be frank there are still thousands of wonder around yet to be unveiled by travellers, scientiests and geologist.

Indeed, borneo is a very beautiful place to stay on. I live in Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. And that would be the north west of borneo. We named our city ‘Kuching’ which means cat. We don’t breed much cats in our premises but one thing in common was, the cat came to us automatically. That’s true. My house never breed cats ever since I graduated primary school. Those cats just came to us like that because we provide free food – unfinished dishes like fish or rice.

I would like to describe more about borneo. But the time now is 2 AM and I feel very sleepy. Why not you watch the video below and refresh your mind first before we proceed to part 2.

By the way, we do have an event which is currently happening in Kuching, Sarawak on 13th-15th July 2007. The venue is in Santubong, Culture Village or in chinese, ๆ–‡ๅŒ–ๆ‘. We’re having our 10th Rainforest World Music Festival. Musicians from around the world gathered, one culture, one nation, one soul, and one rythm. Do visit the website at http://www.rainforestmusic-borneo.com/ Enjoy the nature, the rythm and the people around. Our local delicacies are strictly unique and memorable. Try our LAKSA, KOLO MEE, POPIAH, KIAU, SIO BEE, PISANG GORENG, NASI LEMAK, MEE REBUS, ROTI CANAI, MEE SUA, ABC, CHENDOL etc. If you don’t know how to pronounce the above, copy or print out in a paper and when you reach Kuching, show them and those food will appear in front of you. Do visit www.catscity.com.my for more of Kuching information.

Enjoy…
